This Petrykivka art is a Ukrainian technique that began in the 17th century. Within these patterns is encoded a love for life, a promise to bloom against all odds. People believed Petrykivka art could protect from sorrow and bring love and harmony. We put this very meaning into our Christmas ornaments.

Every stroke is done by hand, just as my grandmother taught my mother, and my mother taught me at the kitchen table.
