❓ Why Petrykivka Art Is so Precious?

This is Petrykivka art - a traditional Ukrainian painting style born in the 17th century and still kept alive today. It originated in a small village called Petrykivka, Ukraine - where we live and continue this tradition by hand.

Petrykivka art began as a way to decorate walls and household items 300 years ago. But over time, it became something sacred: people believed that these paintings could protect the home and its inhabitants from sorrow, bringing joy, happiness and prosperity. Within these patterns is encoded a love for life, a promise to bloom against all odds.

🎨 Each pattern and motif carries meaning:
– Flowers represent joy, health, and beauty
– Birds symbolize love, family, and harmony
– Petrykivka patterns are believed to invite peace

This technique follows its own rules - how we mix colors, how we apply strokes, and even which brushes we use.

The tradition of adorning everyday items with Petrykivka art has lived in our region for over 300 years - and it came to me through my family. As a hereditary bearer of this tradition, I strive to preserve its philosophy and meaning by bringing it into the modern world, by empowering everyday objects with the spirit of this art. I believe that what surrounds us shapes our daily mood, so I want to inspire people to adorn their spaces - and we put our hearts into helping them do so.
